Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, who took command of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) on May 8 this year, will pass the baton to Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, chief of the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA).
Cardiño is among the seven police officials reshuffled, and will transfer to the Police Regional Office Eastern Visayas (PRO-8), effective today, Sept. 7, the Philippine News Agency reported Sept. 6.
The report added that Eastern Police District (EPD) director, Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr., was designated as chief of the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO), while Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco was named chief of SOSIA.
The FEO, a specialized unit under the PNP Civil Security Group (CSG), regulates and manages the legal ownership, control, and use of firearms and explosives in the country.
The SOSIA, also under the CSG, is responsible for regulating, licensing and supervising private security agencies.
Brig. Gen. Roman Arugay, formerly with the Office of the PNP chief, will take over from Buslig as EPD director, while Brig. Gen. Rodel Pastor will assume the post of SPD director from Cinco.
PRO-8 director, Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy, was designated chief of the Human Rights Affairs Office, also under the Office of the PNP chief. ||
