World boxing icon and Philippine Senator Manny Pacquiao is expected to unleash his famous knockout punch on Cuban champion Yordenis Ugas, when the two fighters face each other Sunday, 11:30 a.m., (Philippine time) for the WBA super welterweight title in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While he was quoted saying that the fight against Ugas might be his last above the ring, the 42-year-old Filipino boxing legend said he cannot predict the outcome but he will certainly give his best.

Former Bacolod City congressman and mayor Monico Puentevella, right, watches Philippine senator and boxing legend Manny Pacquiao training at the Wild Card Gym in California, USA.

Pacquiao said he saw himself in the 35-year-old Olympic medalist from Cuba and he is not taking the fight for granted.

In his media interviews, Ugas said Pacquiao will not be able to knock him out.

However, former Bacolod City congressman and mayor Monico Puentevella, who is in Las Vegas with Pacquiao, said the boxing senator is in great shape.

“Everybody is astonished with his fitness. My fearless forecast is Manny to knock Ugas out in the first five rounds,” Puentevella said.

He added that if there is no knockout in the first five rounds, Pacquiao will still prevail. “Beyond five rounds and it will be a unanimous decision in the senator’s favor,” Puentevella said. – NABuenafe
