A total of P2 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated in a series of anti-illegal drug operations in Western Visayas from June 20 to 23, a report of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) showed.

Some 18 suspected drug personalities, of which 10 are listed by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, were arrested for the same period.

Eight other suspects were apprehended by the Capiz and Iloilo Police Provincial Offices, Iloilo City Police Office and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-6.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, commended the operatives for their continued notable accomplishments.

Wanky also urged them to continuously coordinate and collaborate with the community and other government agencies to identify those who still engage in the illegal drug trade.

“May these arrests serve as a warning to those who are involved in illegal drugs to stop. If not, surely you will be the next subject of our police operations,” he added. | GB
