The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) is now on full alert status in line with the commemoration of the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law on Monday, Sept. 21.
In a statement, the PRO-NIR said it has deployed 1,452 police personnel across the region to ensure a safe, peaceful, and orderly observance.
Security measures include police visibility operations, foot, mobile and motorcycle patrols, traffic assistance, checkpoints, border control, civil disturbance management, reactionary standby support force deployment, and other law enforcement operations.
The security contingent are being augmented by eight personnel from other units and 316 force multipliers to strengthen police presence in strategic areas where public activities and gatherings are expected.
Police officers will also maintain visibility and accessibility to the public while performing their duties with discipline, professionalism, and integrity.
The regional police office is also coordinating with local government units, partner law enforcement agencies, force multipliers, and other stakeholders to ensure a unified security effort.
PRO-NIR urged the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with authorities, follow lawful instructions, and immediately report suspicious activities or security concerns. | GPB
