More than 900 police officers will be deployed to secure the 45th MassKara Festival in Bacolod City, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director, said on Friday, Oct. 4.
The proposed implementation of gun ban during the duration of the MassKara Festival, which officially starts Oct. 12, has yet to be approved by the Philippine National Police headquarters, he added.
The sendoff ceremony for 900 policemen, with personnel of other law enforcement agencies, is scheduled Oct. 10.
Wanky ordered an intensified campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs in Bacolod City, following the confiscation of P544,000 worth of suspected shabu from an arrested drug suspect in Barangay Banago on Oct. 3.
