The Bacolod City Police Office received Monday 189 more police personnel from the Police Regional Office 6, as additional augmentation forces to secure the ongoing MassKara Festival in the city.

Of the newly–arrived personnel, 186 are non-commissioned police officers, while three others are police commissioned officers, who will serve as their supervisors.

This was on top of the 315 police personnel earlier dispatched by PRO 6, who were already deployed to the different MassKara Festival sites and other strategic areas in Bacolod.

The augmentation personnel will be deployed to various festival sites and event centers. They will render anti-criminality functions, and provide security and police presence in all MassKara-related venues and activities,” P/Lt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, BCPO public information officer, said in a statement.

The 514 police personnel deployed in Bacolod City formed part of the more than 2,200 uniformed personnel and force multipliers tasked to maintain peace and order during the three-week festival, which runs until Oct. 23./GB
