Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) has postponed the scheduled power interruptions covering areas under five feeders from Saturday (March 29) to Monday (March 31).

In an advisory, Negros Power said the postponement is due to necessary adjustments in the scheduled date.

“This decision was made to accommodate operational requirements and ensure a more efficient execution of maintenance activities,” it added.

Postponed were the scheduled power interruptions in the whole of Reclamation Feeder and portion of Burgos Feeder 1 on March 29 as well as in the portion of Sum-ag Feeder 1 on March 30 and portion of Mountain View Feeder 4 and Murcia Feeder 4 on March 31.

The planned outage would allow for essential upgrades, including addressing hotspots, replacing insulators, installing new tree wires, and repairing aging infrastructure.

The rehabilitation work at the Reclamation Substation is expected to lead to improved power reliability for consumers, reducing the likelihood of outages and ensuring a more stable electricity supply.

Engr. Salman Moncatar, line construction, maintenance, and metering operations manager of Negros Power, emphasized the importance of these upgrades for ensuring a more reliable power network.

“These improvements are necessary to address existing problems in our network and ensure a more reliable power supply,” he added. ||
