P/SSgt. Joseph Nepomuceno, a member of the BCPO-DEU, was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, after he was shot by riding-in-tandem suspects at Rosario Street, Brgy. 38, Bacolod City, the police said.
P/Maj. Ramil Sarona, BCPO Station 1 chief, said that Nepomuceno was on duty and driving a motorcycle when he was waylaid and shot several times by the suspects, who were reportedly wearing helmets and jackets.
He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
The police is investigating if the shooting was job-related.
Meanwhile, a probationer, identified as Marvin Diancin, was shot and killed at Crossing Antipolo Lubi, in Brgy. Talaban, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Diancin, a supplier of bamboo products and a resident of Purok Casoy, Brgy. Mambagaton, Himamaylan, was declared dead on arrival at the Valeriano Gatuslao District Hospital, the police said.
P/Lt. Col. Romeo Vargas, Himamaylan City police chief, said that Diancin, who was driving a motorcycle, was transacting bamboo products to the unidentified persons when he was shot.
Recovered at the scene of incident were 10 fired cartridges and two fired bullets of a .45 caliber pistol.
Vargas said Diancin was a drug personality in Kabankalan City, and was on probation for a drug offense.
Vargas said they are looking into the possibility that Diancin’s killing may have been related to illegal drugs or his business. –GB
