Police units raid marijuana farm in San Carlos City

Two persons were arrested by the police, following the raid of a marijuana plantation in Sitio Bedio, Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, May 14.

Seized were 132 fully grown marijuana plants estimated to weigh 20 kilograms.

Also recovered from the two suspects were an Armscor caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing three ammunition, a black sling bag and a shovel.

A report of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office said the operating units were about to leave the area when they saw two persons cultivating marijuana plants.

The operation was jointly conducted by the San Carlos City Police Station, 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company and 605th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6 and Maritime Group.

Meanwhile, a 41-year-old tricycle driver was arrested during a buy-bust in Barangay Nanunga, Hinigaran also on May 14.

Operatives recovered about 30 grams of suspected shabu valued at P204,000 and a caliber .38 revolver, with four live ammunition, police said.

In Victorias City, the police also recovered about three grams of suspected shabu worth P20,400 from an arrested drug suspect at Taytay Malogo in Barangay 13. | GB
