More than P5 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated by the police in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City and EB Magalona, Negros Occidental on Nov. 22 and 23, respectively.
A member of the Caunda drug group, Marlon Coral Pango, was arrested yesterday by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Units, at Purok Pilipinhon, Barangay 30 in Bacolod City.
The arrest of the drug personality yielded 640 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P4.352 million.
On Nov. 22, the police apprehended another drug suspect, Rodney Nuñez Benedicto, in Purok Pilit 2, Barangay 6.
The operation led to the recovery of about 100 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P680,000.
Alias “Andy” was also arrested by the police inside the public cemetery in Barangay 2 Poblacion, E.B. Magalona.
His apprehension also yielded an estimated 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000.
In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded operatives of both Bacolod City Police Office and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office for their exceptional accomplishment in the battle against illegal drugs. | GB
