More than P1.6 million worth of suspected shabu have been seized by the police in a series of buy-busts in the highly-urbanized Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on May 27 and 28.
On Wednesday, the operation at Purok Mapisanon, Barangay Lantad, Silay City led to the confiscation of about 120 grams of suspected shabu valued at P816,000 from suspect alias “Philip”.
Police Station 2 operatives confiscated about 80 grams of suspected shabu worth P544,000 at Purok Everlasting in Barangay 18, Bacolod City.
The two arrested suspects, with aliases “Romeo” and “Segundo”, are now locked up in jail.
An estimated 35 grams of suspected shabu valued at P238,000 were also confiscated by the police from alias “Zeddie” at Purok Eucalyptos in Barangay Tabugon, Kabankalan City on Tuesday.
Policemen arrested alias “Negro” on Wednesday during a raid at his residence at Purok 2 in Barangay Nagasi, La Carlota City.
The implementation of a search warrant issued by the La Carlota City Regional Trial Court led to the recovery of a caliber .38 revolver with two ammunition and two empty shells of caliber 9mm pistol.
Four other drug suspects were nabbed by the police in Murcia town and the cities of Talisay, Escalante and Bago, which yielded about 6.2 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P42,296.
The eight arrested suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | GB
