Two people, including a child, were killed and another was severely injured in vehicular accidents in the cities La Carlota and Kabankalan, Negros Occidental Oct. 7.
A minor was killed while his father sustained severe injuries after a vehicle struck them while they were cleaning their tricycle beside a road in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City.
Emergency responders from the DRRMO-Kabankalan rushed both victims to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital, but the child was pronounced dead on arrival. His 26-year-old father remains under medical care for serious physical injuries.
Police reported that the father and son were hit when a Kia Sonet overshot the roadway directly into their position.
The driver, a construction manager from Pasig City, is in the custody of the Kabankalan police.
In La Carlota, an unidentified female pedestrian in her 40s was fatally struck by an approaching carry-pickup, driven by 60-year-old man, at around 5:23 a.m. along the national highway in Barangay Haguimit.
The driver is currently at the police station, also for proper disposition and further investigation. | TMD
