Sales of the 29th Panaad sa Negros Festival dropped by P2.6 million or 13. 6 percent to P16.6 million compared to the P19.25 million in 2024, comparative data showed.

The province’s week-long “festival of all festivals” held at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City ended on March 30.

As this developed some exhibitors of plants and flowers as well as sellers at the Organic Village have asked for a one week extension to sell, which was granted by the provincial government, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

Diaz said their sales have been affected by the traffic scheme implemented during the festival, wherein vehicles of some customers were not allowed to park in front of their stalls.

“The customers want to park their vehicles near the garden show area to make it easier to load the plants they bought,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the bulk of sales at the Panaad Park and Stadium came from the pavilions of various local government units pegged at P9.822 million, followed by the income from the San Miguel Corp. area concessionaires, P3.466 million; Food Alley concessionaires, P1.678 million; Organic Village, P961,087; livestock and dairy fair, P420,922; garden show, P212,725; and bamboo trade fair, P39,018. | GB
