The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI officially turned over the Pamana Peace and Development Program to Field Office NIR, in a ceremony highlighted by the blessing of the Pamana Office at corner Burgos and San Juan Streets, Barangay 10 in Bacolod City Sept. 2.
The blessing was officiated by Fr. Henry Donasco, witnessed by officials and staff from both field offices, representatives from partner-agencies, and members of area coordinating teams.
A symbolic key was turned over by Field Office VI officer-in-charge and assistant regional director for Operations Katherine Joy Lamprea to Field Office NIR OIC-ARDO Aileen Cuevas, underscoring the DSWD’s continued commitment to collaboration across regions.

The turnover embodies the agency’s mission of delivering programs that foster peace, unity, and progress, the DSWD-NIR said in a press release.
With this transition, Field Office NIR takes on the responsibility of ensuring that the Pamana (Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan) program continues to serve as a bridge for communities toward peace and sustainable development.
Pamana is the national government’s program and framework for peace and development, the DSWD said, adding it is implemented in areas affected by conflict, and communities covered by existing peace agreements.
The program aims to bring back government to these areas, ensuring that communities will benefit from improved delivery of basic services, and are served by responsive, transparent and accountable local government units. ||
