President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and first lady Louise Araneta Marcos awarded a certificate of recognition July 10 to Bago City’s Cinco de Noviembre Revolt Float for winning as second runner-up in the Historical Float Design competition at the Parada ng Kalayaan 2025 last month.
Bago Mayor Mayette Javellana-Yao personally received the recognition together with her predecessor and now Negros Occidental 4th District Board Member Nicholas Yulo, senior tourism operations officer Mae Ann Furtos, Engr. Joenalyn Jara of the City Engineer’s Office, and float designer Aaron Spencer Marin.

The certificate, signed by Marcos Jr., himself recognized Bago’s Cinco de Noviembre revolt as one of the “key historical moments in the nation’s struggle for freedom”, the city said in a press release.
The city also participated in the best of Philippine festivals from the regions, which the Office of the President described as “paying tribute to our past, celebrating our diverse culture, and inspiring the future of our nation.” ||
