A collaborative art exhibition, titled “Pagtilipon-Tipon”, is ongoing until Nov. 8 at the Orange Project Gallery in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City.
This exhibition, the result of nine months of teamwork among seven artist-run initiatives, explores how words, gestures, and storytelling can connect individuals and communities.
Participating initiatives include the Orange Project, Agos Studio, Eskinita Art Farm, Linangan Art Residency, Pasilyo Press, Project Space Pilipinas, and Tungtung Alon Art Foundation.
Curated by Leslie De Chavez from Project Space Pilipinas, the exhibition highlights the disconnection modern life can create, and emphasizes the role of narration in art and life, aiming to foster togetherness and rediscovery.
This collaboration was bolstered by art talks and workshops held Sept. 12. Mark Justiniani and Joy Mallari from Tungtung Alon Art Foundation, along with Manny Garibay from Linangan Art Residency, shared insights with students of La Consolacion College at the LCC auditorium.
On Sept. 14, a Monotype and Drypoint Printmaking Workshop was conducted by Elmer Borlongan and Plet Bolipata from Pasilyo Press, alongside Eskinita Art Farm and Grupo Balhag Negros Printmakers. Renato Habulan from Agos Studio discussed the art ecosystem, while Charlie Co and Joe Geraldo from Orange Project explored the use of terracotta for community engagement.
The exhibition’s opening night Sept. 13, featured a compelling performance by Hayuma Performing Arts Studio.
