The provincial government of Negros Occidental distributed financial aid amounting P50 million to beneficiaries of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk and their Families (PAFF) in the province, a day before the July 26 deadline set by Malacañang for its distribution.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson advised some PAFF beneficiaries, who failed to make it during the distribution of financial assistance in their respective areas, to claim it at the Capitol in Bacolod City.
Lacson said that the unclaimed assistance will be returned to the national government.
Each beneficiary affected by the El Niño phenomenon received P10,000 financial aid from the government.
Lacson lauded the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWD) for distributing the financial aid within the prescribed period.
PAFF beneficiaries in Bacolod City also received financial assistance amounting to P10 million. | GB
