The month-long operations of the police in Western Visayas in October led to the recovery of P82.4 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 318 drug suspects, records of Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) showed.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has the biggest volume of confiscation, reaching P29.7 million, while the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) accounted for 32.7 percent of the 318 arrested drug peddlers.
During the period, the PRO-6 seized an estimated 12 kilos of suspected shabu valued at P82 million and 2,013 grams of marijuana worth P241,000.
NOCPPO arrested 104 drug suspects, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) – 83; BCPO – 62; Iloilo PPO – 45; Capiz PPO – 9; Antique PPO – 7; Aklan PPO – 4; and Guimaras PPO and Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-6 – 2 each.
The ICPO recovered P28.8 million worth of illegal drugs while the Iloilo PPO seized P11.1 million of suspected shabu. | GB
