Policemen seized suspected shabu worth P748,000 from two persons in a buy-bust in Purok Kabuhi, Barangay 10 in Bacolod City Nov. 19.
The arrest of alias “Wen”, 56, and alias “Pat”, 37, by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit yielded about 110 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P748,000.
The two suspects were reported to have been actively involved in drug peddling activities in various barangays of Bacolod.
On Nov. 17, two drug suspects were also arrested by the Bacolod police in Purok Maabi-abihon, Barangay 35, which yielded 10 grams of suspected shabu, worth P68,000.
In a statement, P/Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, regional director of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), lauded the dedication and commitment of the operating troops, stressing that PRO-NIR will remain relentless in pursuing drug personalities and dismantling illegal drug networks.
“The fight against illegal drugs is a continuing priority of PRO-NIR. We will not slow down, we will continue to strengthen our operations to ensure a safer and drug-free Negros Island Region,” he added. | GB
