Police seized an estimated P714,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested a high-value individual in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 2, Bacolod City, June 28.
The Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) conducted the sting operation in Purok Lampirong, resulting in the arrest of a 29-year-old unemployed female suspect identified only as alias “Ren”.
The CDEU operatives seized about 105 grams of suspected shabu from “Ren” following an intelligence-driven validation that flagged the suspect as a drug pusher and keeper, police reports showed.
The suspect is in custody at Police Station 2, and faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, Bacolod City Police Office director, P/Col. Eugene Rebadomia, said that the shabu seized during operations were always directly turned over to the crime laboratory for testing and presentation to the court, before being destroyed.
“There is no recycling here in Bacolod. This is to let people know, because there is a lot of misinformation…claiming that it is allegedly being used for business or just stuck in police custody,” he said. | TMD
