Some P6 million in livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Negros Oriental will benefit sectoral groups and individuals for the second quarter this year.
Rubie Cempron, DOLE-Negros Oriental Field Office focal person for the integrated livelihood program, told the Philippine News Agency July 7 that seven groups/associations and eight persons have been identified as beneficiaries.
“We have already submitted the project proposals to the regional office for final evaluation, and we hope that the checks will be released within this month or by next month,” she said.
Under the group projects are associations of farmers, fisherfolk, women, and parents of child laborers.
For individuals, these include seven persons deprived of liberty, and a displaced worker.
Cempron said the proposed livelihood projects include chicken egg layering, farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and insecticides, garment sewing, hog fattening, sari-sari store, and broiler chicken production.
This is the quarterly disbursement of livelihood assistance under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program, she added.
The beneficiaries are from the towns of Vallehermoso, Sta. Catalina, Bindoy, and the cities of Canlaon and Bayawan. ||
