P5.5M in drugs seized in first 2 days of MassKara Festival

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated about P5.5 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested seven individuals in the first two days of the 46th MassKara Festival.  

On Oct. 2, separate buy-busts led to the arrest of five drug personalities and the recovery of more than half a kilo of suspected shabu valued at P3.5 million.

Around 7:29 p.m., personnel of Police Station 8 arrested alias “Pindot,” 27, in a buy-bust at Bangga Saling, Barangay Singcang-Airport.

The operation yielded 170 grams of shabu worth P1.156 million.

Minutes later, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested alias “Kwa-Kwa,” 41, in another buy-bust along Roxas Avenue, Barangay 40, resulting in the recovery of 100 grams of suspected shabu valued at P680,000.

In Barangay 1, three suspects, alias “Mark,” 21; “Reniel,” 22; and “Dave,” 23, were arrested during the third buy-bust conducted by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Barracuda around 8:48 p.m.

Seized from the subject’s possession were 250 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1.7 million.

On the evening of Oct. 1, alias “Anthony,” 35, was arrested at a checkpoint along San Juan St. and was found possessing 220 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.496 million.

Earlier in day, the CDEU collared alias “Bebe,” 44, during the buy-bust along Therese Street, Gonzaga Extension in Barangay Taculing that yielded 70 grams of suspected shabu worth P476,000. | GB
