P5.4M shabu recovered in Victorias City

Policemen seized an estimated P5.4 million worth of suspected shabu from three suspects during a buy-bust in Barangay 2, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Arrested were a 48-year-old man and his 24-year-old son, and their 37-year- old companion, whose identities were withheld by the police.

The suspects yielded 800 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P5.44 million, along with a weighing scale and P500 in marked money.

On Dec. 10, a buy-bust operation at Purok Kawayanan in Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, led to the arrest of two more drug suspects, one of them a woman.

This resulted to the confiscation of an estimated 35 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P238,000.

The two suspects also yielded a Llama caliber 9mm pistol with a magazine containing seven ammunition, P500 marked money, a digital weighing scale, P400 in cash and assorted illegal drugs paraphernalia.

Three drug suspects were also arrested in separate buy-busts in the cities of Sagay and Cadiz as well as Cauayan town in Negros Occidental, which yielded 5.2 grams of suspected shabu valued at P35,734.

All the arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail, and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | GB
