P4.3M in drugs seized in Negros Occidental

Policemen have arrested 15 suspected drug peddlers in a series of buy-busts in Negros Occidental, including the highly-urbanized Bacolod City, on Feb. 10.

The operations resulted in the confiscation of more than P4.3 million worth of suspected shabu.

The biggest haul was scored by the San Carlos City Police Station during the operation along Hope Street in Barangay 5, where it recovered an estimated 303 grams of suspected shabu value at P2.06 million.

The suspects were identified as Carlos Dela Peña Opciar, 29; Julius Oscaris Escanillan, 29; Alexis Jeffer Colbe Damandaman, 27; and Reynaldo Abao Dela Peña, 24.

Five more drug suspects were also arrested in Barangays E. Lopez and Guimbalaon in Silay City that resulted in the confiscation of about 19 grams of suspected shabu worth P129,200.

The arrest of a bet solicitor in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia and four others in the cities of Escalante and La Carlota as well as Binalbagan and La Castellana towns yielded about 10 grams of suspected shabu valued at P60,000.

In Bacolod City, Ma. Faith Salaver Equibal, 56, was arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit in a sting operation at Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8 Saturday night.

The Bacolod City Police Office reported that operatives recovered from her possession 312 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P2.121 million. | GB
