P31.28-million shabu seized in Bacolod

The Bacolod City Police Office confiscated P31.28 million worth of suspected shabu in three buy-bust operations in Bacolod City on Sunday (May 18), police reports showed.

The operation at Jade Court 2, Barangay Singcang-Airport around 3:21 p.m. led to the recovery of 1,100 grams of shabu valued at P7.48 million.

Alias Cherry Mae, 41, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 led by PCapt. Greeky Cayao after attempting to sell P100,000 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer inside the motel.

Earlier around 2 a.m., the arrest of  alias Drake, 37, in Barangay Estefania yielded an estimated 2.5 kilos of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P17 million.

The buy-bust operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit led by PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez.

Another operation by the Police Station 2 under the command of PMaj.  Eugene Tolentino led to the recovery of an estimated one kilo of shabu valued at P6.8 million.

About 3 a.m. at Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, suspect alias Robert, 42, of Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte was also arrested by operatives.

PCol. Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, lauded the operatives for their vigilance and commitment as he stressed that they remain relentless in the war against illegal drugs.

“These operations demonstrate our strong resolve to keep Bacolod safe and peaceful to live in. We will continue to pursue those who threaten the peace and well-being of our community,” he added.

The BCPO urged the public to continue supporting the anti-illegal drug efforts by reporting suspicious activities through the nearest police station or via its hotline numbers. | GB
