Cadiz City in Negros Occidental will soon have another hospital.
Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. said on Tuesday that the construction of the P300-million Cadiz City General Hospital is set to start next year.
It will be constructed at the reclamation area in Barangay Tinampaan and is targeted for completion within 14 months.
Escalante said the detailed engineering study and cost analysis of the project has been completed and will be submitted to the Land Bank of the Philippines for a loan.
It will have a 50-bed capacity which may increase to 100 beds in the future, the mayor said.
The mayor said that of the P300 million budget, P50 million has been allocated for the purchase of equipment.
The existing Cadiz District Hospital is being managed by the provincial government of Negros Occidental. | GB
