P26M in shabu seized in WV

Operating units of Police Regional Office-6 confiscated 3.8 kilograms of suspected shabu, with a market value of P26 million, in Western Visayas from June 1 to 15.

There were 196 drug peddlers arrested as a result of 141 police operations, regional police spokesperson PLt. Col. Arnel Solis said in a report.

For the same period, the police also seized 120 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves valued at P14,400.

Solis said that the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) logged the highest number of arrested drug peddlers, with 74, while the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-6 recorded the biggest volume of confiscated drugs, with 1.2 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P8.7 million.

The Iloilo PPO arrested 10 drug suspects;  Iloilo City Police Office –  29, Bacolod City Police Office – 20; RPDEU-6 – 18; Capiz PPO – 9; Antique PPO – 3; Guimaras PPO – 2; and Aklan PPO – 1.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, again lauded the contribution of all the police units in the region to arrest those who continue to defy the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Philippine National Police. | GB
