A series of anti-drug operations in highly-urbanized Bacolod City and four component cities of Negros Occidental led to the recovery of more than P2 million worth of suspected shabu and the arrest of seven individuals on Oct. 17 and 18.
Operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two suspects during a buy-bust at Purok Magti-ayon, Barangay 10 on Oct. 17.
The operation yielded an estimated 230 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.564 million.
On the same day in Victorias City, operatives seized about 54 grams of suspected shabu worth P367,200 from a construction worker at Purok 5 in Barangay 9.
A 60-year-old retired Philippine Army soldier is now locked up in jail, following his arrest in Barangay Salong, Kabankalan City also on Oct. 17
His apprehension yielded about five grams of suspected shabu worth P34,000.
The arrest of three suspected drug peddlers in Himamaylan, La Carlota and San Carlos led to the recovery of P39,646 worth of suspected shabu.
Meanwhile, a 64-year-old man was arrested by the police for creating alarm and scandal and for illegal possession of firearm at Purok Kamunsil, Barangay Iglau-an, Murcia town.
The suspect yielded a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing two ammunition. | GB
