Operatives of the Dumaguete City Police Station-Drug Enforcement Unit seized around 400 grams of suspected shabu, worth P2.72 million, from a high-value individual arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Mabugnawon, Barangay Junob, Dumaguete Nov. 14.
The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office said Nov. 15 that a sling bag, a cellular phone, and buy-bust money were also confiscated in the operation led by P/Cpt. Mac Millard Milan, under the direct supervision of P/Lt. Col. Don Richmon Conag.
The suspect was immediately taken to the police station for booking and proper disposition while documentary requirements were prepared for filing in court, the NORPPO said.
“This successful operation demonstrates the steadfast commitment of NORPPO to uphold the law, suppress the drug menace, and ensure the safety and security of the people of Dumaguete City and the entire province,” it added.
Provincial police director, P/Col. Criscente Tiguelo, said they continue the relentless campaign against illegal drugs to safeguard the communities of Negros Oriental. “This accomplishment highlights the dedication, professionalism, and inter-unit coordination of our personnel in advancing peace and public safety across the province.”
NORPPO also participated in a motorcade for Drug Prevention and Control Week Nov. 15 in Dumaguete City.
The activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council, headed by Fernando Martinez, PADAC focal person, together with DILG Negros Oriental, in coordination with the Dumaguete City Traffic Management Office.
The event aims to strengthen the anti-drug advocacy, promote the barangay drug clearing program, and sustain community awareness on drug prevention and control, the NORPPO said. ||
