P2.3M in shabu seized, four suspects nabbed

Suspected shabu valued at P2.3 million were recovered by the police during a buy-bust at Purok Himaya in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City on Thursday (Sept. 19).

One of the four arrested suspects is facing a murder charge, according to Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez, chief of the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit.

Two of the arrested suspects are siblings while the two others are their cousins.

About 350 grams of suspected shabu, were seized from the four suspects, who are all jobless.

Three more drug suspects were arrested by the police in the cities of Sagay and Himamaylan and the municipality of Toboso, Negros Occidental, which also yielded two grams and eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P20,000.

All the seven arrested drug suspects, whose identities are being withheld by the police, are now locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges against them for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | GB
