Twenty-four grams of suspected shabu, worth P163,200, were confiscated by Police Station 1 personnel during an anti-drug operation at Purok Malinong, Barangay 39, Bacolod City, Sept. 21.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said the suspect, 34, of Purok Sunrise in Barangay Taculing, has been engaged in the sale of illegal drugs in barangays 16, 35, 39, and Taculing.
Recovered from the suspect were several sachets containing suspected shabu, a black coin purse, and the marked money used in the buy-bust operation.
The suspect is detained at the Bacolod City Police Station 1 and is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“We will continue to pursue those involved in this illegal trade, prevent dangerous drugs from reaching our communities, and ensure that every operation is conducted lawfully and with full respect for human rights,” PRO-NIR director, P/Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, said in a statement. | TMD
