The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) confiscated P12 million worth of illegal drugs across the region from Dec. 1 to 7.
In 52 anti-drug operations, 68 drug personalities were neutralized, following their arrests for possessing about two kilograms of suspected shabu.
The bulk of illegal drugs, at almost a kilo of suspected shabu valued at P7 million, were seized in San Jose, Negros Oriental on Dec. 6.
In the campaign against illegal possession of firearms, PRO-NIR records showed 16 violators were arrested while 48 firearms and seven explosives were recovered, the bulk of which were surrendered to the authorities.
A total of 80 fugitives were arrested, of which 12 are categorized by the police as most wanted persons.
Twenty-two persons were apprehended for illegal gambling, with P5,737 in alleged cash bets seized by the police. | GB
