The month-long anti-drug campaign of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) led to the arrest of 131 drug suspects while the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized P11.1 million worth of illegal drugs in the month of February.

In a report, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 said that NOCPPO accounted for 39.22 percent of the 334 drug suspects arrested in Western Visayas, along with the 65 arrests made by the BCPO.

NOCPPO logged the most number of arrested drug suspects while BCPO recorded the highest volume of confiscated illegal drugs.

All over the region, PRO-6 reported the recovery of 5.8 kilograms of suspected shabu and 2.5 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves with a total market value of P39.9 million.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, commended the concerned police units for their laudable accomplishments, saying it is a product of the collective effort between the Philippine National Police, local government units, and other law enforcement agencies.

“To those who opt to continue engaging in the illicit trade, expect that our law enforcement operations will be intensified to make you answerable for your actions,” he added. | GB
