P1-M shabu seized in Bacolod, Victorias anti-drug operations

Policemen seized an estimated P1 million worth of suspected shabu from two individuals in separate buy-busts in the cities of Bacolod and Victorias in Negros Occidental on Thursday (Oct. 9).

In Bacolod, alias “Luis”, 32, was arrested during the operation of Police Station 2 along Gatuslao St. in Barangay 8.

The suspect yielded at least 100 grams of suspected shabu valued at P680,000.

Since the start of the 46th MassKara Festival on Oct. 1, the Bacolod City Police Office has confiscated about P7 million worth of suspected shabu from arrested suspects.

The heightened campaign forms part of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region’s comprehensive security measures during the festival.

It is aimed at maintaining peace, order, and public safety amid the influx of local and foreign tourists in Bacolod City, its spokesperson PLt. Col. Joem Malong said.

In Victorias, operatives seized about 51 grams of suspected shabu valued at P346,800 at Yolanda Housing in Barangay 13.

The suspect was identified as alias Conrado, a high-value drug personality. | GB
