P1.68-million shabu, marijuana seized

A total of P1.68 million worth of suspected shabu and dried marijuana leaves were seized by the police from four drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City.

Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by PLt. Richard Legada recovered about 170 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.156 million, following a buy-bust in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.

The recovery of illegal drugs also led to the arrest of a suspect, with aliases of “Emil” and “Yen Yen”, 29, of Barangay 6.

CDEU operatives led by PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez arrested three other suspects in another anti-drug operation on Monday night (May 26) at Manville Royale Subdivision in Barangay Tangub.

The apprehension of alias “Rolyn”, alias “French” and alias “Ryan”, who is a student, yielded about 10 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P68,000, and an estimated 3.8 kilos of suspected dried marijuana leaves valued at P456,000.

Two fishermen were nabbed by the police at Sitio Pasil, Barangay 6A, Victorias City on May 26.

Alias “Bodo” and alias “Jose” were found possessing 20 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P136,000.

Another buy-bust operation in Sitio Dacutan Dacu, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City led to the arrest of alias “Marlou” and the recovery of about three grams of suspected shabu valued at P20,4000.

His companion, identified only as alias “Benjie”, evaded arrest.

Two drug suspects were also apprehended by the police in Escalante City and Pontevedra, which yielded 6.82 grams of suspected shabu worth P46,376.

The nine arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges against them for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | GB
