Over 2,000 residents of Moises Padilla were registered under the PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) during a Kasanag Serbisyo caravan in the municipality, from Aug. 25-28.
PhilHealth Bacolod Membership and Collection Division head Reynaldo Salutin Jr. said the caravan raised the municipality’s YAKAP registration coverage to 17 percent of its total population.
This places Moises Padilla third in Negros Occidental in terms of overall program registration, following Don Salvador Benedicto and Victorias City.
In addition to healthcare registration, over 1,000 individuals accessed public services, including medical consultations, dental services, civil registration, and agricultural assistance.
The caravan was led by Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo, Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo Yulo III, and local officials across four designated venues.
The event also received support from the local LGBTQIA+ community members, who assisted residents and offered free haircuts during the four-day outreach.
“The caravan, an initiative of Mayor Garcia-Yulo, is a long-standing outreach program of the local government to bring free local government services to residents, especially those in remote areas who find it difficult to travel to the town center,” the municipal government said in a post. | TMD
