Big Bad Wolf has finally returned to Bacolod City, with its epic quest of welcoming one million new readers into the pack this 2024.
The book sale is ongoing at the ground floor, north wing of SM City Bacolod, until Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Big Bad Wolf head Terrence Leong, who was at the Book Sale VIP Day Sept. 19, said, “It has always been our heart’s desire to see people develop their love for reading. It’s our second time here in Bacolod, and I’m glad to see that the book sale is serving as an avenue for this.”
The first book sale, also at SM Bacolod, was in November last year.
Leong added their goal of reaching one million new readers by the end of this year “now seems closer.”
Big Bad Wolf project director, Ley Almeda, who was also at the VIP Day, said that over two million books of wide-ranging selections and genres await book connoisseurs and budding readers alike in the ongoing sale.
This is also the first time that Big Bad Wolf partnered with local and independent publishers, to also support homegrown talents and artists.
“Big Bad Wolf guarantees a swell time for all attendees, cooking up exciting activities to fill them up with fun,” the company said in a statement Sept. 20. “With amazing discounts and a wide array of books to choose from, attendees are positive to bring home a couple, or maybe 10, new additions to their collection.”
These amazing deals include over two million books at up to 95 percent off; three-month, zero-percent installment promo or a free chicken McDo meal for single-receipt purchases worth a minimum of P3,000 for Metrobank credit cardholders; five percent discount on purchases for returning Wolfies when they bring their old Big Bad Wolf tote bag from last year; and a spot to rest and a chance to win over P50,000 worth of furnishings from Swedish furnishing brand Ikea.
Also at the VIP Day were 2GO Forwarding Business Development manager and sector head Glory Perez and Bacolod operations head Rafael Belarde, as the company is the official logistics partner for the Big Bad Wolf Book sale; and SM Bacolod mall manager Julia Javellana and leasing manager Dominique Schulze, among others.
Staying faithful to its mission, the Big Bad Wolf Bacolod book sale continues to make books accessible while seeking to nurture a love for reading in children and adults alike. Adventure, mystery, self-help, biographies, etc. – whatever the Wolfies are craving, the book sale can satisfy. From children’ story books to academic literature, there is surely one for everyone. ||
