Online gymnastics event set

To promote rhythmic gymnastics and develop linkages among various gymnastics club around the world, Bacolod City-based MK Gymnastics will host an international online competition on Feb. 25 to 28.

In a press release, Ma. Kristina Alagaban, co-founder of MK Gymnastics, said the 1st MK Rhythmic Gymnastics International Online Competition will encourage gymnasts all over the world to promote the sports despite the pandemic.

“Through this competition, we can showcase the talents and skills of rhythmic gymnasts. The online platform has been done by some clubs in other countries where we also participated,” Alagaban said.

She said the MK International Online event will be the first of its kind the Philippines.

As of press time, Alagaban said 19 rhythmic gymnastics clubs from the Philippines, Hong Kong, Mexico, Germany, Australia, and France have already registered for the competition. 

They are expecting at least 114 gymnasts to participate in the event where special awards will be given to the top performers.

Participants may choose to compete in four different levels in their age bracket.
