NONSHS student among NSPC most outstanding campus journos

Daniel Enrico Chua of Negros Occidental National Science High School (NONHS) in Victorias City was named one of the Most Outstanding Campus Journalists in the Secondary Level category during the National Schools Press Conference 2026, organized by the Philippine Information Agency at Western Leyte College in Ormoc City from April 13 to 17.

Chua made history as the Negros Island Region’s first recipient of the national distinction in the secondary level category.

Chua, editor-in-chief of Ang Iskolar, earned the recognition under this year’s conference theme, “Mapanuri, Mapanindigan, at Mapanagutang Pamamahayag”, which highlighted critical, principled, and responsible journalism, The Metro Bulletin Updates posted April 23.

Prior to the national competition, Chua also secured the Most Outstanding Campus Journalist award during the Regional Schools Press Conference in Talisay City.

The NSPC gathered top student journalists from across the country to showcase excellence in campus journalism, and promote press freedom, accountability, and responsible reporting among the youth. ||
