The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative said its average residential rate this billing month of February increased by P0.9087 per kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed.
This means that member-consumers from E.B. Magalona, Victorias, Manapla, Cadiz, Sagay, Escalante, San Carlos, Toboso, and Calatrava will be paying P14.2688/kWh, from last month’s average residential rate of P13.3601/kWh.
The increase was attributed to upward adjustments in the ancillary service charge billed by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines at P0.5643/kWh and that of the cost of electricity in the spot market by P0.1392/kWh, as well as fluctuations in rates of Noneco’s power suppliers, like the Palm Concepcion Power Corporation (PCPC) and Green Core Geothermal Inc. (GCGI).
Noneco’s rate increase this month is the highest among the three distribution utilities (DUs) serving Bacolod and Negros Occidental consumers.
Negros Power earlier said its rate this February increased by P0.4506/kWh, while that of the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative was by P0.3409/kWh.
Noceco consumers in Pulupandan, San Enrique, Valladolid, Pontevedra, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, Isabela, Hinigaran, Binalbagan, Himamaylan, Kabankalan, Ilog, Candoni, Cauayan, Sipalay, Hinoba-an, and La Carlota City will pay P14.5625/kWh, from the P14.2216/kWh rate in January.
Negros Power consumers from Bacolod, Talisay, Silay, Bago, Murcia, and Don Salvador Benedicto will pay P12.1477/kWh, from last month’s rate of P11.6971/kWh.
The DUs urged consumers to always be mindful of their electricity consumption to save on power bills. | CGC
