The Negros Occidental Language and IT Center (NOLITC) was recognized as Outstanding Tech4ED Center and Digital Transformation Center during the Regional Tech4ED Awards held in Iloilo City recently.
The plaques, conferred by the Department of Information and Communications Technology Region VI, were presented to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson Dec. 3 at his office at the Capitol in Bacolod City by NOLITC administrator and Tech4ED Center manager, Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido and staff.
The recognition celebrates the center’s “exemplary contributions to advancing digital inclusion and fostering meaningful opportunities for the community.”
Through its innovative programs and unwavering commitment, NOLITC has become a model for empowering individuals and bridging the digital boundary in Negros Occidental, the Capitol said in a statement, adding that this latest achievement “underscores the center’s pivotal role in shaping the region’s digital transformation and solidifying its status as a leading hub for education and technology.”
Meanwhile, Lacson lauded the 46 Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP) grantees for passing their respective licensure examinations.
These include nine nurses, 35 midwives, and two pharmacists.
The governor also congratulated the parents of the scholars for the achievements of their children, adding he is very happy to witness the fulfillment of the scholars’ dream, and of their hard work and determination.
