The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) reported the recovery of five kilos of suspected shabu valued at P34.6 million during a week-long anti-drug operations across the region.
The 41 anti-drug operations also led to the arrest of 45 drug personalities, the report said.
The biggest haul was recorded on July 5 when operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of Bacolod City Police Office, assisted by the City Intelligence Unit and Police Station 2, arrested alias “Wayway”, 25, during a buy-bust in Purok Kamunsil, Barangay 3.
Police confiscated around 2.07 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P14.11 million.
In the campaign against the proliferation of loose firearms, the PRO-NIR reported the confiscation of 12 unlicensed guns and the surrender of 18 other firearms to the police.
For the same period, 88 fugitives were arrested, among them 28 are included in the police most wanted list.
Some 48 violators were apprehended by the police for illegal gambling, which also led to the confiscation of P7,958 in gambling bets. | GPB
