The firearms proficiency and marksmanship of personnel under the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) are up for evaluation during the two-day 1st RD’s Cup 2025 at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.
PLt. Col. Joem Malong, PRO-NIR spokesperson, said the activity, which kicked off Thursday (July 24), is aimed at enhancing the shooting accuracy, gun safety practices, and tactical competence of uniformed personnel from various law enforcement agencies.
Malong said the pioneering event is not only a test of precision and tactical skills but also a demonstration of discipline, inter-agency cooperation, and the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) unwavering commitment to continuous capability development.
Strictly no civilian shooters are allowed as the event is exclusively designed to assess and improve the operational readiness of law enforcers, particularly PNP patrollers who face daily operational risks in the line of duty.
Anchored on the directive of the PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and enhance field readiness, the activity is being participated by personnel of various units under PRO-NIR, PNP National Support Units, and other law enforcement agencies. | GB
