The newly-constructed police station buildings in the municipalities of Jimalalud and La Libertad in Negros Oriental were inaugurated Sept. 10, led by P/Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, director of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).
“This milestone reflects PRO-NIR’s steadfast commitment to modernizing law enforcement infrastructure and strengthening community-centered policing for enhanced public safety and service,” the regional police said in a statement.
The blessing and turnover ceremony of the Jimalalud Municipal Police Station (MPS) building was held 1 p.m. yesterday in Barangay South Poblacion of the town, attended by Mayor Hazel Tuanda, P/Lt. Col. Ronnie Failoga of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, officers and personnel of the Jimalalud MPS, and other guests.

A similar event also occurred in Purok 4, Barangay South Poblacion, La Libertad, with Mayor Lawrence Limkaichong Jr., Failoga, and the MPS personnel, among others, in attendance.
Ibay thanked the local government units for their unwavering support to the PNP, adding “the milestone achieved is only possible due to the relentless efforts of all stakeholders involved.”
This strong partnership is clear evidence that greater accomplishments are within reach, he stressed.
Ibay said that the seven-point agenda of acting PNP chief, P/Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., emphasizes the efficient management of resources and the accountability of every personnel as key components of the organization’s reform programs. “This commitment ensures that facilities are well-maintained, promoting efficient functionality and the effective delivery of services to the community.”
The new cop stations in Jimalalud and La Libertad signify more than just an upgrade in police facilities; they represent a transformative leap toward building safer, more resilient communities.
These stations are expected to significantly enhance response times, improve police visibility, and foster stronger collaboration between law enforcement and the public; as well as reflect PRO-NIR’s steadfast commitment to combating criminality, illegal drugs, and all forms of threats to peace and order, the regional police stressed. ||
