Following his assumption as officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), PCol. Rainerio De Chavez yesterday ordered an all-out war against wanted persons, including illegal drug personalities and groups, and criminal gangs.

He said that while the NOCPPO may be humble in serving the people, they will be hard in enforcing the law and in extending the long arm of the law to the criminals, wanted persons, terrorists, and those who were found to have violated the laws, ordinances and legal orders.

“We will implement aggressive and honest law enforcement, which shall produce quality accomplishments, and not just ‘accomplishments for a show’,” De Chavez said in his speech.

He took over the helm of the NOCPPO from PCol. Leo Pamittan during the turnover of command held at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City, which was presided by Police Regional Office-Western Visayas regional director, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky.

De Chavez also issued a stern warning against police officers who may be involved in illegal activities.

“We will also make sure that every misdeed, involvement in illegal drugs, corruption and any illegal activities shall be dealt with accordingly and sternly,” he added.

De Chavez said also that the integrity enhancement of all Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, both uniformed and non-uniformed, shall be put in place.

He further said that he will implement the preventive and punitive approaches of the internal disciplinary mechanism.

“We will utilize our intelligence operatives for monitoring, validation, and/or negation, in coordination with our investigative units,” he added.

De Chavez also said that he will seek the guidance of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson in the continuing implementation of the PNP programs, which is also aligned with the Abanse Negrense programs of the provincial government.

Meanwhile, Wanky said he has directed De Chavez to just continue the campaign against all forms of crimes, noting that the NOCPPO did a lot of good during the stint of Pamittan as police provincial director.

NOCPPO was adjudged as the Best Police Provincial Office all over the country in 2023.

“Sustain the momentum,” Wanky ordered. | GB
