The municipalities of Calatrava and La Castellana in Negros Occidental have new police chiefs.

PMaj. Wilfredo Benoman is now the acting police chief of Calatrava.

He took over the position from PMaj. Ronald Santillan during the turnover of command ceremony held on May 22 presided by PCol. Rainier De Chavez, police provincial director of Negros Occidental, and witnessed by Mayor Marilyn Era.

Benoman previously served as deputy police chief of Talisay City as well as police chief of Valladolid and E.B. Magalona.

Santillan swapped position with Benoman at the Talisay City Police Station.

De Chavez challenged Benoman to continue the legacy of his predecessor while Era commended Santillan for a job well done in Calatrava.

De Chavez also installed PMaj. Rhojn Darell Nigos as the police chief of La Castellana town early this week.

Nigos replaced PMaj. Sherwin Fernandez, who is now assigned at the 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company.

PMaj. Jerald Muya also assumed the position as deputy chief of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office led by PLt. Col. Eduardo Corpuz. | GB
