Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power), demonstrating its commitment to providing reliable electricity distribution and efficient service, completed the  scheduled preventive maintenance at the Mt. View Substation in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City yesterday.

The maintenance activity, which involved replacing over 100 insulators and addressing critical hotspot repairs, ensured the substation’s optimal condition and minimized the risk of unexpected outages, a statement from Negros Power said.

Work began at 6 a.m. and concluded by noon, requiring a temporary power interruption in areas connected to the substation.

Despite the inconvenience, residents appreciated the company’s proactive approach to maintaining a reliable power supply.

“I understand the inconvenience of a temporary power interruption, and seeing how committed the team was – even under the scorching sun – makes me more confident in the company’s direction to improve the service and make our electricity reliable,” consumer Maria Lopez said in the local dialect.

Engineer Andy Besana, who supervised the operation, highlighted the importance of the maintenance activity as part of Negros Power’s ongoing five-year modernization and rehabilitation program.

“Our goal is to ensure that our facilities are in optimal condition, minimizing unexpected outages and continuously improving the quality of service for our consumers,” Besana said.

Negros Power assured its consumers that continuous upgrades and preventive actions will be implemented throughout the coming years to ensure a consistent and safe power supply. ||
