Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) led a successful coastal cleanup activity in Talisay City on Aug. 2 as part of its month-long first anniversary celebration and in line with its “Ikaw Ang Una” campaign that puts consumers and communities at the forefront.

The environmental initiative in Purok Tayabas, Barangay Zone 15 gathered 75 volunteers composed of employees of Negros Power, personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection, and community members guided by the Bantay Katunggan coastal protection group.

They collected 15 sacks of coastal waste, properly categorized for responsible disposal and recycling, including 70 kilos of non-recyclable waste, 110 kilos of recyclable materials, and 40 kilos of broken glass and tiles.

Negros Power employees led the cleanup drive on Aug. 2 in Talisay City, as part of its month long activities, in line with its one year anniversary.

The coastal clean-up reflects Negros Power’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, community partnership, and environmental protection, it said in a press release.

The activity also aligns with its flagship “Ikaw Ang Una” campaign, emphasizing consumer care and inclusive growth through proactive community initiatives.

“We recognize that our responsibility as a utility provider goes beyond delivering electricity. It includes being a catalyst for positive change in the communities we serve,” said Maricel Pe, assistant vice president for customer care.

“Through our ‘Ikaw Ang Una’ campaign, we want our consumers to feel that they are truly first, whether in service, safety, or shared action for the environment,” she added.

Negros Power’s first anniversary celebration continues throughout August with activities aimed at strengthening its connection with the people of Negros Occidental and honoring its commitment to service excellence, environmental responsibility, and customer-first values. ||
