Negros Power participates in DSB tree-planting activity

Employees of Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) and members of Guardians of the Environment participated in a tree- planting activity held in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental on Sept. 29.

The program, spearheaded by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), is part of the IBP’s advocacy for “Justice For Environment”, according to a statement issued by Negros Power.

IBP-Negros Occidental president Gerry Llena expressed gratitude to Negros Power for being one of the major sponsors of the activity.

More than 2,000 seedlings of trees of endemic species planted by Negros Power employees, among others, in Don Salvador Benedicto.

More than 500 individuals from various organizations, government employees, institutions, and indigenous peoples participated, with about 2,000 trees planted, including almaciga, bacan, narra, and acacia species.

The activity is one of the programs undertaken by Negros Power as a commitment to environmental conservation and protection of natural resources. ||
