Negros Occ logs 97 fireworks-related injuries

The Provincial Health Office has recorded eight more cases of fireworks-related injuries in Negros Occidental, bringing to 97 the number of victims as of Jan. 4.

These include 89 recorded in 23 local government units in the province and eight, in highly-urbanized Bacolod City.

The cities of Bago and Kabankalan have the most number of victims at 13 each.

There were nine cases in Hinigaran and less than five in each of the 20 other component cities and municipalities.

Most of the victims are male, aged 11 to 20.

The PHO reported that majority of the fireworks-related injuries were caused by “triangulo”, at 20 percent. | GB
